Thanksgiving and Christmas break are rapidly approaching and that also signifies that you’re halfway through your senior year! Although it can be scary, it’s also a really exciting time for you. Here are some things to keep in mind for the next couple of months.
- If your SAT and ACT scores are below par, now is the time to retake the tests. If you keep procrastinating on taking the exams you are possibly delaying your application (and acceptance).
- If you received early acceptance to one of your dream schools, that doesn’t mean you can let your grades slip. I know you got accepted but your University can rescind your acceptance if they feel like you don’t take school seriously or you fail your classes.
- If you haven’t finished applying to your top choice schools (and back-ups) now is the time to tie up all your loose ends. Get any essays finished, reference letters in hand, personal statements finalized and make sure to check all your deadlines. You don’t want to miss out on the school of your dreams because you got your admission deadline wrong.
- Although Christmas break sounds like a good time to kick back and enjoy yourself, don’t forget to keep researching and looking up scholarships. Some scholarships need to be completed before the end of the year and some might have earlier deadlines. You don’t want to miss out on free money!
